Fukuchi Find Festival 2026: Fukuchi Grand Sweets Tea Gathering

The Fukuchi Find Festival is an event that blends the unique appeals of Fukuchi: local food nurtured in the town, ceramic tableware the town takes pride in, and music fostered as the birthplace of nursery rhyme composer Koyo Kawamura. The first festival was held in 2012 under the theme of "Encounters of Food, Tableware, and Music." From its third edition, it was renamed the "Fukuchi Grand Sweets Tea Gathering" and relocated to Kanada Dome. Since then, it has grown into Fukuchi's signature event and Kyushu's largest sweets event, drawing over 30,000 visitors every year from inside and outside the prefecture to a town of roughly 20,000 people. Returning for the first time in six years to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of Fukuchi Town, the "Fukuchi Grand Sweets Tea Gathering" will bring together more than 40 famous sweets shops from inside and outside the prefecture with their proudest creations, allowing visitors to enjoy eat-in dining and souvenir shopping while dazzled by the sweet aromas of colorful confections decorating the display cases. At the "Fukuchi Gourmet Street," established in 2017 to gather local eateries, delicious local food fills the alleyways with energy. In addition, reflecting the heritage of Fukuchi as the home of Agano ware—which carries over 420 years of history and pride as tea ceramics used in the traditional tea ceremony—the tea venue allows guests to enjoy sweets and matcha green tea served on Agano ware dessert plates (which you can take home) and tea bowls, and special collaborative Agano ware products designed by JAL cabin crew will also be sold alongside sweets. Other offerings that convey the charm of Agano ware include hands-on workshops such as tea ceremony using Agano ware vessels and pottery making on a potter's wheel. Furthermore, Fukuchi Town promotes itself as a "Town of Nursery Rhymes and Music" as the birthplace of composer Koyo Kawamura, who defined an era in the history of Japanese children's songs with classics like "Kamome no Suihei-san" (The Seagull Sailor) and "Ureshii Hinamatsuri" (Happy Doll Festival), and the "Fukuchi Grand Sweets Tea Gathering" will also feature special stage performances unique to a town of music.
