About this event
The "Kagura People's Festival Exhibition" brings together those who preserve and dedicate Kagura sacred dances, as well as everyone who enjoys Kagura. Deeply reflecting village life, Kagura has been passed down to the present day as a distinct Japanese cultural tradition rich with regional characteristics. Approximately 4,500 Kagura traditions continue nationwide, with many preserved in Fukuoka Prefecture. Centered around "Buzen Kagura," designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan, 28 Kagura troupes are active across the Keichiku region. This event is scheduled to feature performances such as "Hana Kagura" by the Minamibaru Kagura Kou (Kanda Town), "Tegusa" by the Mitsutomi Preservation Society (Miyako Town), "Shihouoni" by the Imai Kagura Kou (Yukuhashi City), "Jiwari" by the Obara Kagura Kou (Chikujo Town), "Tsunakake Sen" by the Tsuchiya Kagura Kou (Yoshitomi Town), "Bon" by the Nakamura Kagura Preservation Society (Buzen City), and "Iwato Kagura" by the Tomoeda Kagura Kou (Koge Town). Take this opportunity to fully experience the charm of Kagura, a traditional performing art deeply rooted in the local community.
