The international road cycling race Mynavi Tour de Kyushu 2026 will be held in Saga Prefecture for the first time. Bringing together prominent cyclists from Japan and abroad, this event allows spectators to watch high-speed racing up close against the scenic backdrops of Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. The Saga-Fukuoka Stage starts at Cape Hado in Karatsu City, travels along the scenic coastline known as Route Grand Bleu, passes through Karatsu Castle and Nijinomatsubara, and heads into the Itoshima area of Fukuoka Prefecture. The finish line is at Tenjin in Fukuoka City, creating a dynamic course of approximately 154 km where you can experience the diverse charms of the sea, mountains, and urban areas all at once. On race day, a viewing spot will be set up in front of Karatsu City Hall, with public viewings and other events planned. Exploring regional sightseeing spots and tasting local gourmet food alongside race spectating are also major highlights. Additionally, the 74th Kyushu Fireworks Festival will be held on the same day, allowing visitors to enjoy Karatsu all day long. The overall race event will be held in various parts of Kyushu, including a criterium in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, the Oita-Kumamoto Stage, and the Miyazaki-Nichinan Stage.
