Ogi City Ashikari Mudskipper Road Race

About this event

Under the theme of "Fostering physically and mentally healthy people and creating a culture that cherishes closeness to nature," this road race tournament takes place on a nature-filled course along the Ariake Sea coast. You can enjoy an invigorating run while feeling the sea breeze, and anyone can easily participate alone or with friends. Event categories include Ekiden relay (2 km x 5 sections), 10 km, 3 km, 5 km, 2 km courses, and a 2 km jogging category with no age restrictions. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 8:50 AM, race starts from 10:00 AM, and the closing ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 PM. The venue is along the Ariake Sea coast, with check-in open from 8:30 AM until 1 hour before the start of each category. The Ekiden includes categories for elementary school students, open division (mixed male/female allowed), and open women's division, with an entry fee of 3,000 yen per team. Road race entry fees are 700 yen for elementary school students, junior high school students, and jogging; 1,500 yen for high school students; and 2,500 yen for the general public. Preschoolers can participate for free. 1st to 3rd place winners in each category will receive awards, and for the Ekiden, the top 3 teams in each division and stage prize winners will be awarded. Finishers will receive a completion certificate (except for jogging and Ekiden), and all participants will receive a participation prize (except for Ekiden). Special awards including the Mudskipper Prize, Far-Traveler Prize, and Lucky Prize are also prepared (except for Ekiden). The application deadline is Friday, September 11, 2026 (postmarked on the day for mail applications).
