The "YOSAKOI Sasebo Festival", an autumn tradition in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, will be held for 3 days starting October 16 in 2026. Marking its 28th edition in 2026, the festival theme is "FORWARD", conveying the determination to advance step by step toward the 30th edition in two years. The main venue is Sasebo City's "Nawa-kiri Festival Plaza", and dance performances are scheduled to be presented across more than 10 venues throughout the city. Highlights include "Huis Ten Bosch Night", where dances are staged at Huis Ten Bosch on the first evening, and the "100 Stage" on the final day, in which only teams with 100 or more dancers can participate. It is one of the largest Yosakoi festivals in Kyushu, with energetic YOSAKOI dancing being its biggest attraction. Regardless of age or gender, dancers moving powerfully to music while clapping naruko clappers create a spectacular sight. The festival aims to create ripple effects by gaining fans for Sasebo and having people discover and enjoy the city.
