Omura Bay SEA TO SUMMIT 2026

About this event

'SEA TO SUMMIT' is an environmental sports event consisting of an environmental symposium and three activities: kayaking, biking, and hiking. By traveling exclusively via human power from the sea (kayaking) to the village (cycling), and then to the mountain summit (climbing), it provides an opportunity to reflect on nature's cycles and contemplate irreplaceable nature. The course takes advantage of the rich nature of Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture, including Omura Bay and Mount Kooridake. Kayaking spans 5 kilometers from Morisono Park (Glass Sand Beach) around Ushijima Island; biking covers 17.2 kilometers from Morisono Park to Nodake Lake Park (Rosa Mota Plaza); and hiking covers 3.7 kilometers from Nodake Lake Park (Rosa Mota Plaza) to the summit of Mount Kooridake. The total distance is 25.9 kilometers. The environmental symposium is free to attend, and anyone can learn about the environment. The event will be based at Memorylead Sea Hat Omura (Sakura Hall).
