This is an exhibition commentary and lecture event related to the special exhibition 'Tsushima Society in the Jomon Period' held at Tsushima Museum. Focusing on Jomon period society in Tsushima, this event delves deeply into its history, culture, and archaeological value through lectures and a three-way discussion by experts. Lectures include 'Jomon Culture of the Japanese Archipelago and the Value of the Takagoe Site' by Doshisha University Professor Kazutomo Mizunoe, and 'Aspects of the Jomon Period in Nagasaki Prefecture and the Significance of the Takagoe Site' by Atsushi Nakao from the Nagasaki Prefectural Board of Education's Curatorial and Cultural Division. In addition, lectures such as 'A New Image of the Jomon Period Revealed by Seed/Grain Impression Surveys and the Image of Tsushima Revealed by Excavations at the Takagoe Site' by Kumamoto University Professor Emeritus Hiroki Obata, and 'Interactions Between the Korean Peninsula and Iki/Tsushima as Seen from Pottery' by Soichi Tanaka from the Iki City Regional Promotion Department's Culture and Sports Promotion Division are scheduled, allowing attendees to learn about various aspects of the Jomon period. Exhibition guidance and commentary on the special exhibition by Hirokazu Onoe, Deputy Director of Tsushima Museum, are also included, making it an excellent opportunity to deepen understanding of the exhibits.
