About this event

This is a hands-on experience event where you can harvest taro, an autumn delicacy of the Aso region, with your own hands. Why not experience harvesting in-season taro in Aso, where you are freed from the hot days and the mornings and evenings feel cool? This event is very popular every year. Freshly harvested taro is perfect to enjoy with newly harvested rice. In the event, in addition to harvesting taro, an opportunity to take a stroll through the Naragino settlement is also provided. In a nature-rich environment, you can experience the joy of harvesting while touching the soil. A treasure hunt-like experience awaits, captivating both adults and children. Please bring clothes and shoes you do not mind getting dirty, work gloves, a water bottle, and a bag to put the harvested taro in, and enjoy autumn in Aso to the fullest. A bento lunch is also included, allowing you to spend a fulfilling day.
