14th Great Aso Genki Walk 2026

About this event

Marking its 14th edition this year, "Great Aso Genki Walk 2026" will be held in Aso City under clear autumn skies. With the area around Aso Shrine as the main venue, this walking event allows participants to experience people, nature, and townscapes. A fun raffle with various prizes is also scheduled, allowing participants to fully enjoy the charms of Aso. Anyone who is healthy and can follow the event rules, manners, and traffic regulations is welcome to participate; elementary school students and younger must be accompanied by a guardian, and those needing assistance must be accompanied by a caregiver. The participation fee differs for Aso citizens, general participants, elementary to high school students, and toddlers, with separate rates set for advance registration and same-day registration. Commemorative gifts, bib numbers, course maps, and other items are prepared as participation souvenirs. The participation fee is charged only once even if participating on both days. Because accidental injury insurance is enrolled, participation application is required even for toddlers. The participation fee is non-refundable under any circumstances after registration, but if the event is canceled due to natural disasters or similar causes, participation souvenirs will be sent instead. The advance application deadline is Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The FAX deadline for group applications is Thursday, September 24. By participating in this event, participants can earn 20 points on the Kumamoto Health App "Motto Kenko! Genki! Up Kumamoto."
