Nagasu Town's major summer event in Tamana District, Kumamoto Prefecture, "Noshikora Festival 2026," will be held on Saturday, September 19. Continuing from last year, it will be held in September in consideration of recent heat, and from dusk into the night, the entire town is enveloped in festival excitement. Starting from the venue opening at 4:00 PM, the event features a packed program for all to enjoy: "Noshiko Ranbu" with distinctive dance performances by various teams, the "Goldfish Mikoshi Time Trial Race" where teams carry goldfish-themed portable shrines and compete for time, and the "Townspeople Mass Dance" where everyone dances in a circle. In particular, the "Nagasu Bridal Song" is a heartwarming segment where all attendees celebrate newlyweds and married couples. There will surely be moments when the venue unites as one. The festival concludes with a fireworks display starting at 8:30 PM. Just imagining the fireworks coloring the night sky is thrilling. This year, in addition to original T-shirts, new original towels are also on sale. The T-shirt design was selected through a nationwide contest, featuring a design expressing "goldfish" and "ripples" with a Japanese aesthetic by Satsuki Sekiguchi from Hokkaido.
