About this event
This marathon event is held in Nagomi Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, where Shizo Kanakuri—Japan's first Olympian and known as the 'Father of Japanese Marathon'—was born and raised. The course includes the front of Shizo Kanakuri's birthplace and the road he ran along during his childhood to attend school, allowing runners to reflect on his great achievements while running through locations associated with him. The event offers 4 categories: Half Marathon (Paris Course), 10km (Antwerp Course), 3km (Stockholm Course), and a 1.2km Fun Run (Kanakuri Course), making it accessible to runners of a wide range of ages and fitness levels. The Fun Run is especially suitable for families and groups. Luxurious participation prizes are prepared for participants, including a T-shirt, online completion certificate, free admission ticket to Mikawa Onsen, lunch ticket, stall discount coupon, and a finisher towel for finishers. In addition, on the day of the event, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy Nagomi Town's specialties and gourmet food.
