About this event
This is a trail running tournament set in Kurokawa Onsen, known as one of Japan's leading hot spring areas. Runners dash along an approximately 19 km course starting from the hot spring town, passing through Mount Ichime, which offers a 360-degree panoramic view, and returning back to the hot spring town. This event, where participants can fully enjoy hot spring culture and magnificent nature, will be a special experience for runners who love hot springs. The purpose of the tournament is to widely disseminate the appeal of Kurokawa Onsen and Minamioguni Town's nature, satoyama landscapes, and hot spring culture outside the region, promoting weekday visitor attraction and the expansion of lodging and tourism consumption. This project is carried out utilizing the Aso Regional Vitality Revitalization Support Project. The approximately 19 km course has an expected cumulative elevation gain of approximately 1,000 m, with a time limit of 4 hours. Participants receive an entry fee package that includes an Onsen Nyuto Tegata (hot spring pass), and regional specialties as well as a 40th anniversary design Kurokawa Onsen Nyuto Tegata (sent in advance) are provided as participation prizes. 1st through 3rd places for both men and women will be awarded, and finishers will be issued a finisher's certificate.
