About this event
According to the official Reihoku Town website, the "Reihoku Sunset Marathon 2026" has been confirmed to take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The marathon aims to contribute to building a cheerful community by increasing the visiting population, revitalizing the region, fostering healthy minds and bodies among local residents, and promoting health and physical fitness. The venue covers the entire town centered around the Noson Undo Hiroba (Rural Sports Ground), featuring three categories: half marathon (21.0975 km), 10 km, and 4 km. The event will take place rain or shine. In addition, it will be held as a commemorative event for the 70th anniversary of the Amakusa area's designation within Unzen-Amakusa National Park, and is expected to be a one-of-a-kind tournament where participants run through the town of Reihoku while viewing the beautiful sunset. Participation as families or groups is also welcome. This event is held with support from the Sports Promotion Lottery Subsidy.
