Yufuin Music Festival 2026

About this event

Started in August 1975 as a 'Small Concert Under the Starry Sky,' the handmade music festival 'Yufuin Music Festival 2026' will be two days filled with chamber music echoing at the foot of Mount Yufu. In 2026, it will be held on October 31 and November 1, with a total of 3 performances scheduled at Yufuin Luck Hall. The opening concert 'Autumn in Yufuin' will feature pieces such as Tchaikovsky's 'Autumn Song,' while the evening performance will feature a program dedicated to Beethoven's string quartets. The Sunday afternoon program is scheduled to feature Bach, Schubert, Brahms, and others, allowing visitors to enjoy the harmony of piano and strings on Sunday afternoon. Performers include a gathering of talented musicians, led by music director Akira Mizutani, along with Tetsuo Tsushima, Junichiro Murakami, Nobuko Yamazaki, Yuya Tsuda, and Michio Kobayashi. Spanning over half a century, this music festival serves as an autumn tradition in Yufuin, offering a special experience where music and the flow of the town naturally connect.
