About this event
At the Hatchobaru Geothermal Power Plant, Japan's largest geothermal power plant, an appreciation festival perfect for the summer vacation will be held. On the day, a wide range of events will be organized for children and adults alike, including bare-handed yamame trout catching (limited to the first 100 children of elementary school age or younger), free distribution of steam-cooked hell-steamed foods (jigokumushi) and shaved ice (limited quantities), free tours of the power plant, power generation experiments, toy fishing, target shooting, magic shows, and craft workshops (specified reception times apply, child-exclusive, limited quantities). Furthermore, local product sales, kitchen car food trucks, and a specially curated Kyushu specialty market will be held, promising a bustling day. It is an ideal event for creating summer vacation memories and social studies learning.
