About this event
The 51st Miyazaki City Art Exhibition will be held from Saturday, October 17 to Sunday, November 1, 2026. The venue is on the 5th floor of Miyazaki Art Center. Composed of four divisions—2D Art, 3D Art, Calligraphy, and Photography—admission is free. Regarding work submissions and delivery information, application guidelines and entry forms can be downloaded from the website or picked up sequentially at major art supply stores, calligraphy supply stores, camera shops, various city branch offices, community centers, public halls, etc., throughout the city. Work delivery dates are from Thursday, October 1 to Saturday, October 3. The entry fee is 2,000 yen for general participants and 1,000 yen for students. Awards include the Grand Prize, Special Prize, Encouragement Prize, and Youth Award. The Youth Award is open to participants from high school age to under 30 years old, with prize money of 4,000 yen awarded to 5 winners. In the "Vivid Award" selected by visitors, 20 people chosen by lottery from voters will receive invitation tickets to the next special exhibition. In addition, during the exhibition period, workshops such as "Fluffy Sheep" and "Let's Make Colorful Ghost Bookmarks," as well as events such as "2D Division Talk and Appreciation Session" and "Let's Photograph 'Miyazaki'!" will be held. Workshops will end as soon as materials run out. The Talk and Appreciation Session is for exhibitors (2D division only), has a capacity of 20 participants, and is free of charge. "Let's Photograph 'Miyazaki'!" is open to elementary school students and older who have an SLR or mirrorless camera (elementary school students must be accompanied by a guardian), has a capacity of 10 participants, and costs 500 yen. Phone reservations begin at 10:00 on Friday, September 18.
