About this event
The "Kannon Pond Festival" is a festival of history and tradition praying for the safety of the Kannon Pond embankment and bountiful grain harvests. Dedication of traditional Ishiyama Hana-Sumo and performances of local folk arts will take place, and wonderful shows can be enjoyed against the backdrop of large fireworks. The festival begins at 14:00 with the Ishiyama Hana-Sumo dedication, and stage events start from 17:00. At 19:00, the main guest will appear, and a fireworks display will be held from 20:00. The fireworks launched include Size 3.5 shells, coloring the night sky with continuous rapid-fire and single bursts. 36 toilet facilities are available at the venue. Last year's visitor count was 25,000 people. The event will be held in light rain, but may be canceled in case of stormy weather. Traffic regulations may be enforced around the venue. The parking lot accommodates 2,500 vehicles and is free of charge.
