About this event

The '38th All Japan Medical and Dental Students Surfing Championship' is a traditional competition aimed at improving surfing skills and deepening friendships among students. Since the first tournament was held in 1984, it has taken place every year at Kanegahama Beach in Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture. For medical and dental students who will carry the future of healthcare, surfing against nature is regarded as a meaningful sport that cultivates technical skill, judgment, physical strength, and mental fortitude. This competition serves as a valuable opportunity to compete using the fruits of practice built up alongside daily studies and clinical training, while also acting as an exchange venue that enhances solidarity among students nationwide. The competition features divisions for current medical and dental students (Class A to C, Longboard, Bodyboard, Team Competition) as well as diverse divisions for alumni (ranging from Beginner to Special, Master, Royal Class, etc.), making intergenerational interaction between healthcare professionals and students a major feature.
