Held in Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture, the "26th Tour de Osumi Cycling Festival" is a cycling event that takes advantage of the magnificent scenery and abundant ingredients of the Osumi Peninsula. The first event was held in 2001, starting as one of the sports events commemorating the 60th anniversary of the city's incorporation. Today, it has become well established as a cycling event set in the Osumi Peninsula centered on Kanoya City, attracting many cycling enthusiasts from all over the country. The event offers various courses that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to advanced riders, catering to diverse needs such as pottering (under 50 km) and long rides (50 km or more). Participants can savor delicious local cuisine while enjoying the beautiful natural scenery of Osumi. It is an event that welcomes cyclists from across the country with a spirit of hospitality and contributes to regional revitalization. On the day before, the "Learn to Ride" event will also be held with the professional cycling team "CIEL BLEU" to learn safe and enjoyable ways to ride bicycles, making it ideal preparation to enjoy the next day's event even more.
