"2026 Minamisatsuma Festa Furusato So-Odori" is a lively community festival held in Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Under the autumn sky, groups of colleagues from workplaces and various organizations parade along Yumepika Honmachi Street and surrounding areas, dancing to the tunes of Minamisatsuma Ondo, Ohara-bushi, and Hanya-bushi. The event features a music marching band parade, mikoshi (portable shrine) parades, and the massive so-odori (group dance), creating a vibrant atmosphere. Participating groups are actively recruited, bringing local residents and organizations together to energize the event. Every year, the program includes a music band parade by local kindergarten, nursery, elementary, and junior high school students, a children's mikoshi parade, and a grand mikoshi parade, making it an enjoyable occasion across generations.
