The Ryukyu King Sho Hashi Half Marathon in Nanjo City is a half marathon beloved by many joggers and represents Okinawa Prefecture. "King Sho Hashi" is a symbolic figure of Nanjo City who built the Ryukyu Kingdom and developed it into the Great Trade Era. This event is held to showcase the appeal of Nanjo City both inside and outside the prefecture and contribute to regional revitalization by experiencing the "Sho Hashi Romance" while engaging with the rich nature, deep history, and unique culture of Nanjo City that gave birth to "King Sho Hashi." The half marathon division has a capacity of 5,000 runners, and the 3K division has a capacity of 1,000 runners, accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will proceed rain or shine. The entry fee includes event operation costs, safety management expenses, marathon insurance, and participant commemorative gifts. This event allows participants to run while experiencing the charms of Nanjo City and contributes to revitalizing the region.
