About this event
The Akiba Festival, held at Akiba Shrine in Minamidaito Village, is a traditional event praying for fire prevention. With November 16 designated as its annual festival day, each aza (district) takes turns in rotation to conduct Shinto rituals. Attendees include residents on duty and volunteers from the village. This festival serves as an important occasion for islanders to reaffirm their commitment to fire safety and pray for the overall safety of the community so they can lead secure lives.
