4th Izena Island Mecha Exchange Event

About this event

This event aims to deepen exchanges between young people on Izena Island and those from outside the island, promote Izena Island, and create opportunities for future relocation and settlement. The 2026 theme is "Experiencing a Model Sightseeing Route, Youth Exchange, and Promoting Relocation and Settlement." During the 2-day, 1-night itinerary, participants will stay at a local minshuku (guesthouse) on Izena Island, experience model sightseeing courses around the island's scenic spots, and enjoy marine activities (such as SUP and snorkeling). A social gathering at a local izakaya pub on the island is also planned for the evening. Participation is free of charge (10 invited participants), though travel expenses to Unten Port must be covered by participants themselves. Eligible participants are men and women nationwide in their 20s to 30s who actively use social media and are willing to cooperate in promoting Izena Island on social media. Couples, friends, and solo travelers are all welcome. On the day of the event, participants will gather at the Unten Port Ferry Terminal in Nakijin Village. Please note that the event may be canceled or postponed in the event of ferry cancellations due to typhoons or rough seas.
