38th 2026 Kumejima Marathon

Marking its 38th iteration, the Kumejima Marathon is a marathon tournament held in Kumejima Town, Okinawa Prefecture. It features full marathon, half marathon, 10km, and 5km divisions, with awards presented in 5-year age brackets to a total of 288 people. In addition, the 3km category provides participation slots for elementary/junior high school students and seniors aged 70 and over, making it an event that fosters exercise motivation and health improvement across a wide range of generations. Participation eligibility for the full marathon, half marathon, 10km, and 5km events requires participants to be 16 years of age or older on the day of the race. Those 18 and under require parental consent. The 3km event is open to 4th-grade elementary school students through 3rd-grade junior high school students, as well as individuals aged 70 and older. Residents of Kumejima Town can participate at a discounted rate. For on-island participants, registration is available via advance check-in only, with no same-day check-in on the day of the event. Participants from outside the island will receive their bibs and other items by mail about two weeks prior to the event. Entry fees are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
