The Ebetsu Shrine Autumn Grand Festival is a traditional three-day festival. It begins with the Yoimiya-sai (eve festival), followed by the Reitaisai (main festival) and the Gojitsu-sai (post-festival), with a mikoshi (portable shrine) procession held on the final day. Every year, the town of Ebetsu becomes lively with excitement as local residents gather to watch the portable shrine parade through the streets, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Celebrating ancient Shinto rituals as autumn arrives, it is an important event that nurtures a sense of community unity.
