Reiwa 8 August 8 Memorial Event '8 Fes'
Japanese name:令和8年8月8日記念イベント「8フェス」
📅 Sat, Aug 8, 2026 - Mon, Aug 31, 2026
About this event
In Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, the project '8 Fes' will be held to commemorate the alignment of three eights on Saturday, August 8, Reiwa 8 (2026). Under the catchphrase 'Ha, Ha, Ha, Hachinohe!', it is a city promotion-style event where visitors can enjoy touring the entire city across various locations rather than a single venue, including Hasshoku Center, Hacchi, Hachinohe Station, and various cultural and sports facilities. The main events will be held mainly on August 8, while some related projects and the distribution of special marriage registration forms will take place from July 13 to August 31. At Hasshoku Center, events such as the declaration of 'Food City Hachinohe', the unveiling of a new logo, food booths, and guest talks are planned. At Hacchi, the 'Nanbu SENBEI-PON! 888 Cup' will be held using wooden rackets themed after Nanbu senbei (rice crackers). At the Hachinohe City Museum of Art, admission to exhibitions will be free for the first 888 visitors exclusively on August 8. The Korekawa Jomon Museum, Historic Site Nejo Plaza, and Hachinohe City Nango History and Folklore Museum will also open for free. At Hachinohe Station, Hachinohe City's official mascot character 'Ikazukinzu' will welcome returning visitors. Commemorative gift programs for those submitting marriage or birth registrations during August and the distribution of original marriage registration forms will also be carried out. On this special day, visitors can enjoy food, culture, and sports while touring Hachinohe City.
