About this event
"Hachinohe Hokoten 2026" is a regular pedestrian paradise event held along the central shopping streets of Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture (Jusannichimachi, Mikkamachi, and Yagura-yokocho). It is held regularly once a month from May through October (except July). Along the streets in the area, a variety of stalls offering local food and specialty goods, attraction booths where visitors can play and participate in hands-on activities are set up, and stage performances such as dance and live music are held, allowing adults and children alike to enjoy the open atmosphere. By closing the main streets of the city center to vehicular traffic and opening them as pedestrian spaces where anyone can walk freely, "Hachinohe Hokoten" features food and beverage stalls, merchandise, local foods and specialties, general goods, and hands-on booths with games and attractions that children can also enjoy. In addition, performances such as dance and music are held on street stages, creating an open and festive atmosphere in central Hachinohe. On Saturday, August 22, it will be held on the same day as the Hachinohe Fireworks Festival.
