From Thursday, September 10 to Sunday, September 13, 2026, the National Sports Festival Rowing Competition will be held at the Ominato Special Rowing Course in Mutsu City, Aomori Prefecture, as part of the "Ao no Kirameki Aomori National Sports Festival & Para Sports Festival." This tournament will serve as a stage where top-level athletes gathered from all over Japan compete with the results of their daily training. Located within the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Ominato Base, the Mutsu City Ominato Special Rowing Course offers water conditions suitable for competition. Athletes will demonstrate their strength and skills aiming for victory across various events such as single sculls, double sculls, coxed fours, and coxed quadruple sculls. During the 4 days of heated competition, visitors can feel the dynamism of rowing and the passion of the athletes up close.
