I See! Nishi-Kogin Tour with Maiko Ishida of Yumemiru Kogin-kan

Departing from Shin-Aomori Station, this is a 3-day, 2-night trip filled with kogin-zashi (traditional embroidery), visiting locations such as Aomori Kita-no-Mahoroba History Museum and Aomori Museum of Art. Accompanied by Maiko Ishida of Yumemiru Kogin-kan, the tour proceeds while providing plenty of explanations on the charm of kogin. A lecture by a special guest is also scheduled on the first day at the Aomori Sashiko Wear Exhibition. At the Aomori Museum of Art, participants will view the 'Decorating Soul Exhibition', and at the Yoko Sato Kogin Exhibition Hall, they will experience a tour and a mini workshop. In Nishimeya Village, participants will visit Lake Tsugaru Shirakami on an amphibious bus and enjoy a dam lake tour. Packed with content, the tour also includes learning the roots of kogin at Nishimeya Village Central Community Center, viewing the Mt. Iwaki kogin tapestry, and shopping at craft stores in Hirosaki City. Accommodation is in the Kogin Room at 'Green Park Mori no Izumi', decorated with Nishi-kogin. This tour aims to deeply experience the history and beauty of kogin-zashi, feel the natural features and culture of Aomori, and provide participants with personal discoveries, insights, and inspiration for future creative work.
