"Iwate Morioka City Marathon 2026" is a marathon event set in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, to be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026. A variety of categories are available, including a full marathon (42.195 km), a fan run (12.1 km), and a pair run (1.3 km), allowing participants to enjoy the event according to their own physical fitness and goals. The full marathon starts and finishes at Kitagin Ballpark and is an official Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) certified course. The fan run is a course from Kitagin Ballpark to Morioka Hachimangu Shrine, and the pair run also starts and finishes at Kitagin Ballpark. In addition, a junior challenge run (500 m to 1,500 m) and a parent-child run (300 m) will be held on the previous day, making it an event that a wide range of generations from children to adults can participate in. An online marathon will also be held, where participants compete for cumulative running distance during the period. At the event, participation souvenirs and finisher prizes are prepared, welcoming participants with finisher towels and finisher medals made of Nanbu ironware. A Morioka Support Charity Donation is also conducted, allowing contributions to various support activities.
