The "National Kagura Festival Hayachine 2026" is an event held in Osako-cho, Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Hayachine Kagura's designation as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. Kagura troupes from all over the country gather in one place to showcase their diverse appeal. The event features not only Kagura performances, but also Kagura presentations by local elementary and junior high school students from the Osako area, public viewings of Kagura performances, and lively events where visitors can enjoy food trucks. The Kagura performances will be held at Osako Gymnasium, while the public viewings and festive events will take place at Osako Community Revitalization Center. This festival is a valuable opportunity for local residents to experience various styles of Kagura rarely seen in daily life, and it is expected to contribute to the preservation and transmission of traditional performing arts as well as regional revitalization.
