Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Kamaishi Local Products Center Sea Plaza Kamaishi, the "Kamaishi Ekimae Festival" will be held at the Kamaishi Station Rotary and Sea Plaza Kamaishi on Tuesday (National Holiday), September 22, 2026 (Reiwa 8). This event consists of two parts: the daytime "Lively" section for the whole family to enjoy, and the evening "Cheers" section for adults. Special guests Shinya, a rugby comedian, and Yoriko Sano, Kamaishi Tourism and Products Goodwill Ambassador, will liven up the stage. Shinya will appear on a comedy stage, rugby experience, and the KANPAI Special Talk Stage, while Yoriko Sano will perform a Hamachidori sake-cask opening ceremony (kagami-biraki) & free sake serving, and a pop-song stage. In addition, stage events featuring local traditional arts and amateur bands, as well as a rugby experience corner aiming for a try with passes alongside former Japan national rugby team player Yoshihiko Sakuraba, will be held. Free charcoal-grilled Pacific saury (limited to 100 fish), a taste of Kamaishi's autumn, and the Hamachidori sake-cask opening and tasting are also planned, making it a day to fully enjoy the charms of Kamaishi.
