About this event
Held at Appi Kogen in Hachimantai City, Iwate Prefecture, the "Appi Relay Marathon 2026" is a relay marathon event where teams of 4 to 10 runners pass a sash (tasuki) along a 2 km loop course to complete a total distance of 42.195 km. It is an inspiring event where teammates join forces to cross the finish line while feeling the refreshing breeze of Appi Kogen. Anyone aged 6 and older can participate, with entry fees of 2,000 yen for high school students and younger, and 2,500 yen for adults (tax and insurance included). Around 300 teams are expected to enter. The registration period runs from Tuesday, June 30 to Tuesday, August 4. The race goes ahead rain or shine, starting at 10:00 on the day of the event.
