About this event
In conjunction with "Geothermal Energy Day" on October 8, Hachimantai City is holding a tour of the Matsukawa Geothermal Power Plant, which marks its 60th anniversary of commercial operation. This tour is open to elementary school students and older; children in grades 1 through 3 must be accompanied by a guardian. The tour is divided into a morning session (10:30–12:00) and an afternoon session (13:30–15:00), each with a capacity of 15 participants. Domestic travel accident insurance will be provided for participants at the city's expense. Since the tour site includes hazardous areas, please follow staff instructions and participate in easy-to-walk clothing and shoes. Helmets will be provided on loan. Applications are accepted via online form or telephone until Friday, October 2. In conjunction with the tour, a geothermal quiz rally and model demonstrations will also be held at the Hachimantai Sanzoku Festival venue.
