About this event
The 21st Hachimantai Cross Country Meet and 17th Hachimantai Junior Sports Club Ekiden Festival, held in Hachimantai City, Iwate Prefecture, is an event aimed at promoting local residents' health and sports development. Combining a cross-country competition and an ekiden relay by junior sports clubs, the event offers programs accessible to a wide range of age groups. Participants can challenge courses suited to their physical fitness and skill levels: the Chibikko Adventure Run (approx. 600m total course) for preschooler-and-parent pairs, the 2km course for elementary school boys and girls by grade and family pairs, the 4km course for junior high school students and general men and women, and the 10km course for general men (under 40 and 40 and older). Many participants are expected to gather as a place to demonstrate the results of their daily training and as an opportunity to enjoy sports together with family and friends. Detailed information including meet guidelines and application forms can be found on the official website of the Hachimantai City Sports Association.
