About this event

A comprehensive autumn event in Kunohe Village, held at the Kunohe Village Community Center HOZ Hall and the Mountain Village Development Center Gymnasium, featuring product sales by shops and companies in the village, group bazaars, exhibitions of works by schoolchildren and villagers, and stage presentations such as local traditional performing arts and live performances. A dining hall will also be open, allowing visitors to enjoy the event all day long. In 2017, the 'Soba Kakke Speed Eating World Championship' was held, which helped raise the profile of the local specialty dish 'soba kakke.' In addition, the 'Baby Crawling Race,' where babies under 1 year old crawl toward the goal, is extremely popular every year. In 2026, it will be held from October 24 to November 1, with the industry section held on October 24 and 25, and the arts and presentation section held on October 24, 25, and November 1. At the community center, exhibitions of calligraphy, paintings, bonsai, and potted plants by elementary and junior high school students will take place, while at the gymnasium, quizzes and challenge events where gift certificates and other prizes can be won, along with local shops gathering to sell seasonal ingredients, will be featured. In the presentation section, performances such as nursery school children's games and dances, chorus by junior high school students, local traditional performing arts, folk crafts, popular songs, and dance will be showcased.
