New! Hakobune Festival 2026

About this event

Held in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, the "New! Hakobune Festival 2026" is an open-call cultural festival organized by the Rias Ark Museum of Art, providing the general public with opportunities to showcase a wide range of artistic and creative activities. Exhibitions and presentations by 26 participating groups will be introduced in a relay format across 6 terms. Every week from Thursday through Sunday and on public holidays, visitors can enjoy presentations in diverse genres including paintings, Buddhist sculptures, clay works, orchestral performances, flower arrangement (ikebana), and storytelling sessions. It is also an ideal opportunity to discover new hobbies, gain fresh discoveries, and find inspiration through presentations across diverse genres and cross-genre collaborations. At the venue, an opportunity is provided for local residents to fully enjoy an autumn of art and creation.
