About this event

The "Iwanuma Fureai Concert" will be held by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force North Eastern Army Band at the Iwanuma Civic Center Grand Hall. Founded in 1960 (Showa 35), the JGSDF North Eastern Army Band is based at Camp Sendai in Miyagino Ward, Sendai City. With an activity area covering all six prefectures of Tohoku, its mission is to perform for troop morale, ceremonies, and public relations. It conducts a wide range of performance activities, including regular concerts, North Eastern Army Anniversary Concerts, chamber music concerts, Tohoku regional touring performances, and music appreciation sessions at schools. In recent years, it has performed disaster relief concerts during the Great East Japan Earthquake and appeared in the JSDF Marching Festival at Nippon Budokan, delivering performances that serve as a bridge between the public and the JGSDF. This concert is organized by Iwanuma City, and admission is free, but advance application via round-trip postcard is required. Doors open at 13:15, and the performance starts at 14:00. Parking service tickets are also available.
