The first "Kurihara Sake Festival (Kurihara Autumn Brewery Opening: Tour of 6 Fine Sake Breweries Across the Countryside)" will be held in Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture, bringing together 6 local sake breweries. Centered around Japanese sake, one of the culinary highlights of the Kurihara region, the event features a market and a sake banquet (tasting event) on Day 1, followed on Day 2 by a brewery tour bus excursion exclusively for overnight guests. At the sake banquet, guests can enjoy approximately 50 varieties of sake brewed by the 6 Kurihara breweries, paired with appetizer bento boxes curated by the brewers. Limited-edition sake not usually distributed will also be offered, and attendees will receive an original ochoko sake cup. The market will take place around the east rotary of Kurikoma-Kogen Station, while the brewery bus tour will take participants staying at designated accommodations to 3 sake breweries for guided visits and tastings of exclusive sake. This event is a new initiative aimed at providing a food culture experience unique to Kurihara, attracting tourists, and boosting tourism spending.
