Kawasaki Lakeside Marathon 2026

Held in Kawasaki Town, Miyagi Prefecture, the "Kawasaki Lakeside Marathon 2026" will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Categories include a Half Marathon, Family 1.2 km, 2-Person Ekiden Relay, 2 km, and 3 km, with a total participant capacity of 1,700 runners. The half marathon course combines the relatively flat shores of Lake Kamafusa—packed with scenic viewpoints—with a technical course through the North Area of Michinoku Lakeside National Government Park, offering varied terrain between the first and second halves. Seven water stations will be set up. In the 2-Person Ekiden Relay division, two runners can easily take on the half course together and enjoy the true ekiden experience with an authentic sash. Participants receive a complimentary serving of Kawasaki's famous local soba noodles, and numerous stalls featuring specialty products are planned. An exciting lottery draw offering prizes such as hotel vouchers, sports gear, and local specialties will also keep the energy high until the very end. For runners aiming to cross the finish line, pace runners will accompany the half marathon. After the event, completing a survey rewards participants with a free pass to local hot springs in town, making it an event where you can fully enjoy Kawasaki Town all day long.
