Katagami Sports Festival 2026

About this event

Katagami City is hosting the "Katagami Sports Festival 2026" with the aim of promoting citizens' health, establishing exercise habits through sports, and encouraging interaction and regional revitalization through programs that multiple generations can enjoy. On the day of the event, various activities will be prepared, including a marathon, various sports attractions, a raffle, and conditioning booths. For the marathon, costume participants are warmly welcomed, allowing runners to participate in creative outfits. In addition, the Record Challenge features team competitions such as long rope jumping, tamaire (beanbag toss), and petanque pointage, where people can exercise together with friends from school, work, or the community. As football attractions, there will be corners for footgolf and kick target shooting, as well as a hole-in-one challenge and physical fitness tests. Furthermore, an inflatable trampoline featuring Blaublitz Akita's mascot character "Blaugon," conditioning booths, and health checkup booths will be set up, making it an event that adults and children can enjoy all day. At the main venue, Seia Yasuda, Katagami City Hometown Ambassador, and special guest mixed martial artist Kazushi Sakuraba will enliven the atmosphere. At Traic Katagami, health classes such as rhythm jump training and yoga classes will be held (prior reservation required). Three ground golf courses in the city will also be open free of charge exclusively for city residents to casually try out ground golf.
