2026 Katagami City Cultural Festival

The Katagami City Cultural Festival will be held over 2 days on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, 2026. The venues are the Civic Center "Katarian", Tennokan, and Katagami City Library. Exhibitions of lifelong learning works as well as group and individual works will be held, and visitors can also enjoy exhibitions of works by elementary and junior high school students, displays of Futada pictorial maps and Lake Hachiro fishing gear, and introductions of Katagami City Arts and Culture Association activities. The hands-on corner offers tea ceremony and crafting experiences (such as nail art). In addition, the Katagami Photo Exhibition, a performance of "Rikinosuke Runs!", and a storytelling square will be held. On Sunday the 25th, performing arts presentations will be held divided into a morning session (10:00 to 12:00) and an afternoon session (13:00 to 15:00). At the venue, sales booths by the Katagami City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Katagami Club Co., Ltd., Social Welfare Corporation Minami-Akita Welfare Association Katagami Tenno Tsukushien, as well as a food truck corner and a bazaar will be held, offering various gourmet foods and goods. Children's clothing, kimono, accessories, vegetables, and fruits are scheduled to be sold at the bazaar.
