47th Kamioka Nangai Fireworks Festival

The 47th Kamioka Nangai Fireworks Festival, held at Nakagawara Community Park in Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, is a festival of light and sound coloring the mid-autumn night sky. Counting from its 1st edition in 1980 (Showa 55), it marks its 47th edition in 2026 (Reiwa 8). The greatest appeal of this fireworks festival is the extreme proximity between the launch site and the spectator seating. Fireworks are launched against the backdrop of Mount Jingujidake, and the sound echoing off the mountain allows visitors to directly experience the powerful bursting roar and dynamic color transitions. Approximately 7,000 fireworks will be launched by leading local pyrotechnic companies 'Kita Nihon Hanabi Kogyo' and 'Wabiya,' attracting many visitors as a community-rooted event. Food stalls and booths can also be enjoyed at the venue. In the event of severe weather, it is scheduled to be postponed to the following day.
