About this event
The "24th Kitaakita City Jomon Festival" will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 (Reiwa 8) at the Isedotai Ruins and Isedotai Jomon Museum. This festival is packed with unique experiences and content not usually accessible, enjoyable for both children and adults. In the "Find and Connect! Isedotai Photo Tour", participants can receive a commemorative gift by finding five keywords hidden around the archaeological site to complete a single word. In addition, with only 100 servings available, the "Jomon Cuisine Bear Hot Pot" allows you to taste bear meat, said to have been a valuable food source in the Jomon period. The concert features performances by a recreational dance group and the Hamabe no Uta Ongakukan Boys and Girls Choir. Furthermore, archaeological site guided tours will be held twice, starting at 10:30 and 12:30, guiding visitors through both the ruins and the Isedotai Jomon Museum over approximately one hour. The Jomon Open-Air Workshop offers various hands-on activities, including a special booth celebrating the 5th anniversary of World Heritage inscription, pottery and dogu (clay figurine) making, magatama (comma-shaped bead) making, karamushi (ramie fiber) weaving experience, Jomon photography, and a Kiyotaka Elementary School booth. A free shuttle bus will also operate between the venue and the temporary parking lot (Odate-Noshiro Airport Surrounding Fureai Green Space).
