Shiraichi Cycle Rogaining 2026 is a 3-day cycling event around the Shirakami Sanchi World Natural Heritage area. In a rogaining format where participants visit checkpoints with a map in hand, riders can deeply experience Shirakami's nature, history, and food beyond just speed. Held from October 10 to 12, 2026, it is organized by the Kan-Shirakami Ecotourism Promotion Council. In addition to approximately 40 checkpoints each day, the event features region-specific timed special missions, experiences, and aid stations serving local food. Designed for both solo participants and groups, it aims to let people experience Shirakami not just as a tourist spot to pass through, but as an area to explore, understand, and want to visit again. Cycling influencer Tsumuri Kagurazaka will participate as a guest rider, with a talk show scheduled on the final day. Traveling through Shirakami Sanchi by bicycle over three days will offer an opportunity to challenge a different style of riding compared to typical long rides.
