Minamihara Art Walk 2026

Set in the Minamihara district of Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture, "Minamihara Art Walk 2026" is a community-rooted culture and arts project. In this land where beautiful nature, historical traces, and spun culture breathe, artists live and art is becoming an accessible, familiar part of daily life. In this event, local and visiting artists, traditional craftspeople, local high school students, and children participate, allowing visitors to tour art pieces exhibited in the area centering around the Minamihara Community Center while feeling the rich nature of Minamihara. The theme is "Art de Vivre - The Art of Living". It reminds us that art does not only exist in special places, but also in casual daily moments such as the morning air's fragrance or the shifting of seasons. This art festival provides an opportunity to discover rich everyday moments within the overlapping layers of life as people gather, converse, and walk forward as an extension of daily routines. Many artists associated with Minamihara, Yonezawa, and Yamagata will exhibit their work, and talk shows by participating artists are also scheduled during the period. By layering the perspective of art onto the act of living, the project aims to be a place to share joy and happiness with all things.
