Parent-Child Grape Harvest & Group Imonikai Stew Party

About this event

This is a special autumn hands-on event for parents and children planned by Yamagata University student staff. The setting is the winery Voyage de YUUAI in Minazawa, Kaminoyama City. It is a one-day-only program where you can fully savor autumn in Yamagata with all five senses, combining a wine grape harvesting experience in the great outdoors with making 2 types of imonikai (taro meat stew) together. Guided by winery professionals, participants will help harvest grapes that will actually be made into wine and juice. For lunch, everyone will handcraft and compare two styles of imoni: Inland style and Shonai style. It also comes with curry udon to finish the meal and grape juice. Perks for children include a grape trivia corner, the option to purchase and have delivered later a limited-edition wine made from grapes harvested on the day, and a free download service for photos taken by staff.
