The 18th Nagai 1,000-Person Imonikai 2026

The annual 'Nagai 1,000-Person Imonikai' in Nagai City, Yamagata Prefecture, will be held again in 2026. This year, it will take place in front of Nagai City Hall simultaneously with the 'Nagai Minnaga Fes.' You can savor a variety of imoni (taro stew) cooked in large pots measuring 2 meters in diameter, including supreme beef and soy sauce-based imoni, delicious Uma-Sio horsemeat and salt-based imoni, and creative imoni recipes. Freshly cooked imoni will be served at the venue starting from 11:00 AM when sales begin. It will end as soon as supplies sell out, so arriving early is recommended. The venue is located in front of Nagai City Hall, offering convenient access just a 1-minute walk from 'Nagai' Station on the Yamagata Railway Flower Nagai Line. Free parking for 120 cars is fully equipped. Admission is free, and each bowl of imoni can be purchased for 650 yen.
