The 'Hokkaido Entertainment Convention in Kitahiroshima City (Kitacon)', held from Saturday, November 14 to Sunday, November 15, 2026, in Kitahiroshima City, Hokkaido, is a pop culture festival centered on anime, games, and manga. Admission is basically free, and stage programs, various hands-on experience events, merchandise sales areas, and collaborative blood donation events are planned. In addition, cosplay events and itasha (decorated car) displays will be held, though these require separate participation fees. The image characters serving as the face of the event will be designed by prominent creators Hagure Yuuki and Oto, along with Yusuke Kumagai, one of the planning and development members of Hatsune Miku. The official logo is scheduled to be decided through an open competition targeting design schools in Hokkaido. Co-hosted by Kitahiroshima City Hall and the Kitacon Executive Committee, the event is planned to be held regularly every November starting from 2026. The venues will be around JR Kitahiroshima Station, utilizing the Kitahiroshima Arts & Culture Hall, Elfin Park Exchange Plaza, Tonarie Kitahiroshima, and other locations.
