About this event
Set against Tsuruga Castle, the symbol of Aizuwakamatsu City in Fukushima Prefecture, the 'Tsuruga Castle Projection Mapping 2026' will be held. At this event, projection mapping is displayed on the castle tower and stone walls of Tsuruga Castle—renowned as one of the most beautiful castles in Japan—featuring digital animations themed around traditional culture of Aizuwakamatsu City and Fukushima Prefecture such as Aizu lacquerware, Aizu painted candles, and Aizu cotton, as well as landscape paintings of Aizu and digital art of blooming flowers symbolizing famous cherry blossom spots. Furthermore, as a new initiative this year, a sea-of-clouds effect will be staged in sync with the projection mapping, allowing visitors to enjoy the magical night view of Tsuruga Castle emerging from the mist. Last year's event received great acclaim with approximately 20,000 visitors over 3 days, and following that positive reception, this year's program is even more enhanced. Please take this opportunity to enjoy a magical night at Tsuruga Castle decorated with gorgeous, grand projection mapping.
